Hi All,

I'm a brand new D70 owner, moved up from the point and shoot digicams.

I am holding the camera and I notice this "loose" metal sounding spring or something in the camera making this noise. It kind of sounds like the noise made when you load the first battery in a flashlight but faint. A slight boing if you will. Can anyone else confirm this is normal.

To hear it, grab the camera normally as if you are ready to shoot a picture, then turn it up and down (lens moving up, then down). You should be able to hear it. If yes, what the heck is it?

Thanks,

Frank

Mine is solid, no rattles. Get it looked at and tell them you want it on record that you noticed the rattle now (so there is no warranty issues later)

Do me a favor please. Take out your CF card and battery. Listen to the back where the display is at and move/shake the camera.

you are hearing the little sensor that detects the camera's orientation! :-)

Thanks for the answer. I should of searched the forum first. A few posts on this already. It does sound like something bounching in mid-air, not lying and rolling around the body. Thanks again and wish me luck, getting my 2GB Ultra II card tomorrow. Can't wait to start shooting.
