Some mountain aspens from central Idaho.
This was at sunset, not much light so the trees really stood out.

This is a shot on the natural settings.

Same shot on the warm setting. I like the warm better.

Zoomit, did you use the warm setting on the first shot?

Zoomit (I know you from Steve's Forums - I'm geoffs there), I think your first shot is very nicely composed, very artistic. So, you do take pictures of more than just birds! :-)

gss,

Nice to see you taking a look over here. Doing some research on the fz series I imagine.

Yes I do occasionally take a shot of something that catches my eye other than a bird.

Glad you like the first shot. Everytime I look at that picture I feel like I am leaning to the right, weird visual effect.

I like the first one a lot, and like you, I prefer the "warm" setting of the other shots.

To each his own...heh-heh. The "warm" setting turned green leaves a dullish brown on my monitor. "Natural" looks better to me...especially that first shot....excellent!

I have this early project I titled treescape and I can't seem to finish it. Yes, it is all about trees with similar viewpoints like yours. I will finish it one of these days.

Thanks John and deecee,
Glad you liked the first shot. The trees really seem to stand out on it.

The different settings really make quite a difference. Interesting how from shot to shot you may prefer one over the others.

In these the warm was actually a closer reflection of how the colors looked, to me.

I am going on a trip overseas at the beginning of October and was hoping to have something portable and with decent zoom to take with me. I was holding out hope the new FZ cameras would be available before then but I think they will be just a bit late for my trip. So... I might just pick up an FZ10 instead.
