it is really amazing to me how many guys like yourself suffer from penile obsession. they see it in everything. ROFL and no you didn't read it correctly. Did I ever say he was rich, no. Did I ever say I was rich, ah no. I just said I wasn't broke, which a particular individual had speculated about. Clues for the clueless #1:
Pointing out that your VERY GOOD FRIEND(!) has an 82 foot motor-yacht ["his latest" ..in a series(?) at that] is "saying" that he is rich.
Cftc #2:
Wrong. Not "just' (although I'm sure you meant "only").
To imply is to "say"-indirectly. You implied ("said" )that you were wealthy by plainly contrasting the "thinking" that you believed others had done about you (i.e., "broke") with the re-thinking you suggested, ...immediately following with allusions to liberality and "wealth". (Do I think for one minute that the implication was un-intended? No.)

The post to which mine was a response, was not ITSELF a response to anyone's post. (If so, it should have been appended to the thread/post which you intended to answer.)
It was, instead, an apparently "out-of-the-blue' thread-starter, re. your "very-good-friend"'s expensive boat, ...and a suggested "correction" of the thinking of those who believed you to be not-wealthy("broke"). Given the lack-of-background that you seem to expect everyone to have been familiar-with, this is, on its face alone, fairly blatant "nameless" name-dropping and braggadocio ( "My friend and I are rich!")
Guess you had-to-be-there. (Wherever "there" was.)
You flatter yourself. Many 'like myself' have not followed your posts, clinging to every word, ...and are therefore unaware of whatever intendedly-humorous exchanges you might have been engaged-in elsewhere.
If you want your tongue to be recognized as being 'in-cheek", you'll need to provide some CONTEXT for we, the simple-minded.
( I'll honor the trouble you took writing the private e-mail with a response, shortly. ;-)

If Dan likes boats (which is OK), why don't we post our own shots of boats, here (where we can also see who managed to get those highlights in place) and we show them to him, so we can learn more about these... by using Photography as means for it...

A very good friend of mine has just upgraded his motor yacht, this
is his latest editition, for those that are interested this is a
LeClerq 82, manufactured right here in Seattle. Absoloutley
gorgesous, I can't wait for Seafair this year.
for those of you who may think I am some organic, broke, socialist
perhaps you need to rethink your ideas of me. It's ok to have very
liberal ideas and wealth at the same time.

A plastic 82 footer like that runs about 4 mil new ..... I think its safe to say your buddy is doing ok ....ok enough to be called "rich"

...Also, I am searching my boat-trip in my CD-backups, that I took a good while ago with my venerable E-10.
I would like to extract these files, now, with the updated technology (such as Photoshop ACR), and see what I can get, since most of these are raw (as far as I recall).
I will post them here. It was a small but beatiful boat.

...Shot with E-10 (OMG, they are so noisy... by MarkII standards, it is as if you take the shot around ISO500, underexposed, then correct shadows by pulling them back 1-stop, and then apply a bottom-of-the-barrel USM stroke to the entire image, with emphasis on mid-frequencies. That's how it looks (E-10 .JPGs ISO80 straight from camera):
I reduced them as a precaution for not hurting your eyes to these rather crude .JPG images. However, with .ORFs, the story is quiet different

hey Paul,
I didn't know you lived in the Seattle area. LeClercq Marine has been making boats for quite a long time. In the past they have mostly been larger gill netters and crabbers. This is a new direction for them which I think they are doing very well.
