The squiirrel is priceless. Looks like he's found heaven.

Here are some of my backyard critters. More common than yours :-)

The squirrel, I have to admit, came from my dad's backyard...

I can walk in the woods for days and not catch a sight like this,
then just a few feet from the back porch...

From bugs to bears - I'll bet lots of you have similar shots. Lets
see um.

I was going to post this in a thread that kind of got out of hand in the 1D2 forum a while back (hence the caption), but decided it would be in bad taste at the time. Anyway, this is from my backyard, complete with all the duck-doo around the pool.

We live in Kirkland, WA, which is a suburb of Seattle. We live overlooking Lake Washington, and the Bald Eagles sit in the trees next to the house. We don't really live in the wilderness or anything, but we do have tall evergreens. In fact if you check out http://www.anders.us/photos/NautilusParty/crw_4168.htm , the tree that I photographed with the eagle is just off to the right. That will give you some perspective.

I'm impressed! Where do you folks live that you have such great
wildlife in your backyards?

Wow. I have never seen an eagle in the wild, and I'm not a young man. I even go out with the RV and stay at the lakes around here where there have been sightings but still no luck. Last week I spent a whole day at the beach practicing shooting seagulls in flight just in case I ever get a chance to shoot an eagle. I even take my canoe and paddle all around the lakes where they are supposed to be, but they are never there when I am. And then you come along and post an eagle picture from your backyard - it sort of pisses me off. Can I camp in your yard? Do you have hookups?

Is not worth posting here. A lone Bald Eagle flew up the James River, on the other side, against a white sky. I would not presume to post the junk shots I got that day, but I HAVE seen one!

If only Benjamin Franklin had his way, the Wild Turkey would be our national bird and I'd be rich with sightings.
