Hello,

is it possible to change the naming of the filenames in the menu of the nikon d70 - like nikon_000123.jpg ?

I have different cams - and don't want to have different pictures with the same filename...

If you import the files with NikonView you can set it up so that it automatically adds a prfix (for instance).

When NikonTransfer launches you can press change, then choose change, then press change again and choose your settings.

Hi,

hhhmmm .... I know I can do that with nearly all grafic programs like fireworks, photoshop, irfan view and so on.

But I want the camera to give the files different names...

You can change the folder name (ie... put all your pictures in a D70 folder) but you can't change the filename that is generated until you transfer the pictures.

Nikon View however does have a nice feature for transferring pictures from your card to your hard drive. It's what I use... when Nikon View launches, click the change button and you can change the filename's prefix or suffix as well as change the folder. I typically put the files in a D70-date/timestamp folder for my D70 and coolpix885-date/timestamp for my coolpix stuff. The filename's also have a d70 or coolpix885 as a prefix.
