I was shopping at Fry's Electronics for a new PC today and was told by the salesman that the Mac 20 inch Cinema Display flat panel was compatable with the Sony Intel Pentium 4 - 3.4GHtz PC. He hooked one up with the Mac DVI to ADC adaptor and it seemed to work fine.

Anyone have any comments. Is this an OK combination?

Thanks.

i just don't think you can use them separately--the 20inch can only mirror the laptop.

Not sure, just heresay, so you may want to doublecheck.

You can use the new Apple displays with PC's really easily now, as they sare standard DVI - the older ones (non-metallic) use ADC connectors so you would need an adaptor (which it seemed he steerd you towards).

Unless you are getting a really good deal on an old one you might want to get one of the newer ones - higher pixel density (100DPI) and two USB 2.0 ports on the back of the monitor, also I think it tilts a bit further.
