It started doing that yesterday when I put on my new 85mm 1.4 lens. It works using the 1.4 but when I tried to change settings, after I take a picture an err shows up. I had to turn off the camera and start over. When I put on another lens, it didnt do that. I also received my Sigma lens today and it did that too.

I thought of that too, and I believe it's locked. It seems to work ok at the 1.4 aperature, but when I tried to take a landscape picture with different settings it says Err on top. Also, the picture does come out. ??

I used to get that on my Sigma 70 -200 until I had it re chipped by Sigma, but I have no idea what would cause err using Nikon lenses, sorry can't be more helpful, hope someone has the answer for you.

Regards.

Brian.

It is doing it on my new Sigma lens too. I'm recharging the battery now. Very unusual I must say.

Make sure that the aperture lever in the camera body is not bent. Mine is and it is going back to Nikon for service. I can take pictures at wide open aperture but when I stop it down it throws the err message.

Where would I look to see if it's bent?
