When I was in high school a very long long long time ago we had to pick a foreign language to study. I picked english as it's hard enough for me as my only language. LOL

It would seem that applying the concept to movie titles would be acceptable for the challenge, right?

For example, "Gone with the Wind" wouldn't be that hard to illustrate.

If you think it fits the topic, and you can make it interesting, and preferably funny, go right ahead. In the end it is the voters who decide if it's on topic.

However, I was thinking more of a single word, or a small group of words.

Movie titles, song titles, and proverbs and maxi-mums (now there's an idea) have been done before, so I was looking for something different. If we aren't careful we will get more "Pelican's briefs" and "You light up my wifes"

Neil,

Fun topic. Can I clarify if oxymorons are acceptable such as "good government", "bad sex" or etc? You can rest assured that I will not do the bad sex example.

Some good ideas coming through, interesting to see some
photographic terms being exploited.

GBS was well known to "play with words" and the english language. For example is the word "GHOTI" coined by GBS and pronounced "fish"

Ghoti = fish? How does that happen?
GH as in tough
O as in women
TI as in relavation.

That's pretty simple.

So, Neil, if GBSisms are allowed for "Play on words" I'd like to submit a picture of gheaupteighbtoughs. It will be a very straight forward photo of gheaupteighbtoughs and only the spelling will be, er, a play. Will you allow it?

Do any of you know what a gheaupteighbtough is? LOL

Oh, yes, lets move this to the top.

I think it will need clear explanation for the slower ones of us... like me. I got it, but did take a minute.

Here is my submission (first post in this challenge forum) i posted originally in an original post - (i'm a nerd)....

...to see what a gheaupteighbtoughs is. It hurts my brain trying to think what it might be. It's obviously a play on words. Don't keep us in suspense for too long.
