And I'm NOT offended by your photos. What's WRONG with me?

You probably smile too much :-)

Thanx for the congrats. I still missed how you lost your FZ2 and got a FZ10 (right?), but it doesn't matter as long as you still take excellent pictures and show them to us here. Thanx for being here,

Tels

Tels, I don't care how negatively you feel about visiting America, I STILL like you. Thanks!

Moin,

the first time I submitted something, with little hope after seeing
all the previous POTM winners and it instantly won:

http://www.onlinephotographers.com/

Must have been a slow day for the admin or so :)
It's a GREAT picture! Absolutely well-earned! One of those pass-it-around, "everybody look at this guy" or "I'm so happy I could just croak" shots. Hmmm, getting ideas . . . , Erin

I had mine accepted yesterday. I saw it this morning but without
the camera info I didn't know it was you - sorry.
No need to be sorry. There was no field for camera info, but if there was I had it filled in.

I wasn't to sure what the extra field upon uploading about "mural" was for, so I left it empty.

Best wishes,

Tels

PS: You mean, there is actually another "Tels"? :)

Btw, I submitted mine because I saw yours mentioned here somewhere (but I think I forgot to congratulate you, again :) and thus became aware of the URL.

Best wishes,

Congrats, Tels. Isnt this one of the shots shortly before you dropped your tl55 in the muck? How did that all turn out?

When I first saw this post title I figured you had gotten POTD for the shot of the man walking on the tree-lined road. Another fine shot.

  • it has a dent in the metal casing that doesn't impact quality
  • the front lens is no longer 100% tight so a bit of water got in (but you wont notice this with air - it is stil rigid and tight)
  • the water formed a vapour - only mikly shots were possible - I thought it gone
  • left it on the window sill in the sun for a few days and the water went away!
  • tried to get it repaired, found out how,but didnt do it because it would probably been expensive
  • after a few more days water was gone
  • took it to sri lanka, brought home 2000 photos (1500 were kept :), many of them with it
  • a few days ago showed it to a fellow coworker with lots of experience in mechanical things - 10 seconds later he opened it :) it is very easy to open, pry open circlin (retainer, snaü ring) at the back with a very little screwdriver, take it out and then let the back lens slide slow out (it will slide slow due to the TL beeing airtight and so creating underpressure). After that, clean (it actually was already mostly clean on the inside, there were very few water residue spots), and then assemble again.
happy ending, happy tels :)

I don't like it that much - it reminds me on the "classic" shots that I find a bit boring. I was just amazed that theses szenes really happen in real life - and of course, that road always intrigued me because it didn't exist a couple of years ago. :) If I can choose, I would rather submit animal or flower photos. OTOH, almost everything has already been photographed and the remaining bits will not be done by me first :) I still have fun, though :-P

Best wishes,
