Is the Fuji S602Z still worth buying?

I just ordered one from the 3 to 5 weeks guy. I will let you know how it goes, I paid $192!!

If I don't have it in 29 days (I have marked my calander), I will complain through paypal and get the payment reversed.

The seller in ebay just assured me that the S602z they're selling
is "new" not reconditioned/refurbished.

Thanks again guys :)
Good Luck arbil, are you getting it from the '3 to 5 weeks
delivery' guy? If you are, I'd love to keep tabs with you on
delivery and final outcome.

I just purchased a refurbished one on eBay yesterday for $192!!!!
After seeing Framers photos, I wnated to play around with both. At
this cost, I can choose one and resell the other on eBay and
breakeven! There are some more out there. I used auction snipe to
post my bid during the last 5 seconds.

Let me know if you have any questions, I will be glad to help.

I got a new 602z through a special deal at work for $320 Canadian
after a $100 mail-in-rebate.
That is an AMAZING price for Canada! Lowest I have seen is $550
AFTER rebate... You got an INCREDIBLE deal there! How many did you
buy ;¬) I know a few people who would probably jump on that offer...
I can buy new,uk £219 ihave s50 and c740 but fancy trying s602 seems to be getting good reviews if at 3Mp.Just looking for possible comment.

sounds like your getting hooked big time. I always admired your abilitiest to stick with just one camera - making the best of it. But now you've come over to the dark side and it's too damned addicting.

As for the S20, it's nice, but it is not a relacement for a DSLR. You want to be spoiled, check the D70, or even the new Olympus 8080. I was even impressed with the E-1 system. The key is certainly in the larger sensors. But the capabilities of this S20 should give us a hint at the supposedly awesome capabilities of the yet to released S3 Pro.

Photokina should show us tons more neat stuff.

I have just bought a 602z pro and am very pleased with it. It offers a range of slr like features allowing you flexibility in taking your pictures, you only have to look on this forum at pictures taken by a 602z to know it is an excellent choice. my 602z has opened up a whole new world to me and i would heartily reccomend it.
Hi guys! I’m planning to buy a new cam within the week. I’ve been
reading a lot of reviews and hearing a lot of good comments about
the S602. Before, I’m just planning to get the S5000, but based on
the reviews, it seems that The S5000 is no match for the 602. S7000
is out of my budget. So, what do you think guys?

Hi Don,

Keep us posted when you received your new cam. thanks

I love my 602. It's solid and fast. Also it records great movies in VGA mode.

you will have to settle for factory refurbished (sold by some
resellers) or used models on Ebay or the like. When I had the 602
I really enjoyed the images from that camera. I made a mistake of
selling it a year ago when the S7000 came out - assuming (wrongly
so) that the S7000 would be superior solely because it had RAW
capability and a higher MP count. Well, I found that the 602 had a
richer, more traditional Fuji color tonality and balance. I have
subsequently sold the S7000 and now have the S20 Pro - which I
found has a color balance and signature more like the 602 but with
the new SR sensor and RAW capability.

Factory refurbished units can cost you anywhere from $369 to $500,
but then you have to consider that regardless of what they call it
(refurbished) it is still used - and had to be repaired for
whatever reason. And why pay that much for a unit that is 2 - 3
years old. It's your call, but if you do get one and it is
functioning correctly, you will not be disappointed. Here are some
602 images taken of my family and I while visiting Wilmington, NC,
the surrounding beaches, the USS North Carolina, etc a year and
half ago. This unique Fuji color exemplified by the 602 is what
attracted me initially to the Fuji camp:

Congratulations, you really "won" this one!!! This is even lower than what a recent "broken" camera sold for!!!

I pity the poor guy who bought one for $290...

Nah, you should be more patient... It's going to take 5 weeks for sure. He obviously waits to sell a few, collect his money and then buy wholesale.
