The SD10 is one of the few cameras that has varying noise levels
without noise reduction software. When the SD9 first came out,
there was tremendous amounts of noise, especially coming from
Plano, TX. You probably recall that.
Lately, noise levels have been better with a few hiccups. The
problem seems to be that all other cameras are perfect and the SDxx
are the only ones with any noise.
I use earplugs now, which seems to help some. I also refuse to get
my prescription renewed for my glasses, which gives me a sort of
personal blur filter.
Beats me what else they could be talking about. Formula 1 engines
are definitely noisier.
