You are doing beautifully with the D70. I watched with interest your thread the other day as I have been getting the same results as you with the soft photos, etc. I have figured it to be me so I continue to practice an lelarn, etc...What are you doing differently these days?

Yep looks sharp to me..dual processor G5.

What sort of monitor are you using on the G4?

Using this link to guide me I spent several hours (mostly testing) fine tuning the focus , and as of this moment it seems to be spot on sharp in all aplications...

I place a white chopping board behind the bowl of water,

my sb800 behind that in remote mode, and dropped a lime into the water...SEVERAL TIMES!!!
and manually hit the shutter release.
It is the first time for me trying this...it was very fun, and WET....

Any chance we could get a small crop at 100% ??

Some of my pic look real sharp at less then 100%, but leave something to be desired when viewed at full res.

I should have read your profile.

Since you have the Apple LCD screen I'm wondering why you are not using the profile supplied by Apple. It has always been my understanding (there's that important word again) that using a "strange profile" (which this certainly would appear to be for the Apple LCD) was a Bad Thing. And yes, I understand that Mac screens have a default gamma of 1.8 and peecee screens are 2.2.

I hope you or someone else can clarify this issue.

I wish I could clear it up..

I did "fine tune" my screen uusing the sRGB setting as a starting point, as yes the gamma was wack..had to bring it down a bit...I don't remember the exact ammount...

But things look GREAT on my monitor...that's why I posted this thread to see if it looked good to others...
