Purchased S10! Hope to contribute.....

Bought an S10 last night. I've been looking for my first digital camera since November and after absorbing all the reviews and lurking on many forums, I decided the S10 was for me.

The store where I bought it had just put their last unit on display 2 hours before I arrived and scooped it up. To my surprise, they had forgot to remove a 20Mb CF from the unit before placing it back in the box. Score one for the good guys! $665 for S10, AC adapter kit, an extra lithium battery, and a free 20Mb CF! (Canadians get the AC kit
included)

I want to thank everyone who has contributed to this forum for helping me make my decision. I'm looking forward to contributing to the forum as I gain experience with this camera.

Canadians pay $999.00 CAD = $680.00 USD for the S10 Package that includes the AC Adapter.
We are not getting anything "included" free!!

In fact, we are being forced to purchase the adapter with the Camera (not that I wouldn't buy it anyhow).

Here in Singapore we're paying about US$699 which includes the charger and battery as well. No price breaks either. However, that said the charger and NiMh battery is a must have. Even have a spare battery and considering getting a third battery even not that the battery life is bad but in a full day might run out of juice.

Yup...and each additional NB-5H battery costs around US$40.......I got a offer for Kingston 48mb CF card for US$113. Is Kingston a good CF card? Is this price good?

Yes $US113 is pretty good. Most places in SG are about $US150. However, you might want to check to see if it is a 2x or 4x write speed card. Not a big deal, difference is about 1 or 2 secs in writing the file to the CF card after taking the photo.

Here in Hong Kong, it sells for about USD636 also includes the charger and battery (no option to exclude them). ... though I have not yet bought it ... seriously considering... waiting for the price drop after s20 is out.

Well well well, you people are very very very lucky.

Here is Saudi and we don't have the S10 yet...!! and the battery is not included :) I guess I'll wait for the Canon digital SLR and go to the states and bring it...:)

It would be nice if you returned the 20MB CF. Seems that based on your posting they forgot to remove it. You got a great price on the camera w/o the 20MB CF.

I know you will keep the 20MB CF. The one who thinks you are a rip off for not returning it is probably a Christian. We have come a ways since then.
