DCS 760 Annouced Today

Terence,
My last message should have been addressed to you not Trent. Sorry Trent.

Regards,
Trent
anyone have any guesses on how much this puppy is gonna cost?
I say around $8,000...
This is Kodaks chance to go head to head with the new Nikon, if
they come to
much higher than the D1X it is going to force a lot of potential
customers to
go the D1X route, even with all the negatives associated with the
previous
D1 ie no upgrades having to purchase the software, poor backup
unresolved
faults etc.
For some i am sure that the 1.5 frame per sec is a negative with
the 760
also the weight, so lets hope Kodak does not price it as if it the
digital to end
all digitals.
regards
Terence hogben
I see on the D1 forum that the D1X is converting to $4800 US i am sure
Kodak will factor that in arriving at the final price.
Thats Jeurgen Spechts forum i saw the pricing.
I think the excitement about the 760 would abate if the price is
more than
$2000 difference to the D!X

Hoping
Terence

And now the best...they unveiled the D1x list price today and it's:
590,000Yen (Body only...there is NO set available in Japan).

This is dirt cheap if you compare it to my expectations...
exactly today it is: 4,801.88 USD or 5,396.04 EUR.

The D1h has no list price yet and no availability is known.
The D1x will be on sale at the end of may.

I forgot anything...mhm, but that's basically all.

Juergen

PS: For whatever reason there was NO Kodak booth today, so
I could not check the new 760...anyway, I dislike to carry
bricks with me. The D1 is heavy and big enough.

Terence,

Exactly what I needed. Thank You very much. Yes, this would be an absolutely stunning reduction in price. I ordered mine this past week also and although I do like what has been said about the 760 SW, I can force myself to "tough it out" with a D1X for 2K+ less in price. Just joking, I'm sure the D1X will be just fine for my amateur work. And I might just go for the option "capture" SW too.
