Hi,

I would like to get inputs on those 3 pictures, especially concerning the exposure; are the pictures over/under-exposed on your monitor or do they look correctly exposed? I am asking because they look correctly exposed on my LCD monitor, but since I am not sure if it is correctly calibrated (I tried to calibrate it, but I'm not sure if I did it correctly), I'd like to know how the pictures look on others people's monitor.

Also, between Picture #2 and Picture #3, which looks better?

Any other inputs are also welcome.

Thanks!

Picture #1 - Canon Pro1 @ 200mm - Auto Levels, Cropped, Resized and little USM applied

Picture #2 - Canon Pro1 @ 28mm - Auto Levels, Resized and little USM applied

Picture #3 - Same as #2, except more saturated

By the way, I wasn't sure if the post belonged to 'Canon Talk' or 'Samples and Galleries', so I posted in both, hope it's ok?

Look OK to me - maybe just tweak the Gamma curve slightly in the 'brighter' direction.

I prefer the more saturated version of the other image, but its a personal choice. You want the water to look like water.

They look terrific to me. I like the saturated picture better but I think it's because of the vivid sky. I wouldn't change anything.

--Heartily agree. Saturation looks a little underexposed, but only a little, and that translates to "delicious". the beach looks inviting...

Hey, the sand at that beach looks quite course...

Here in Australia our sand is very different to that...

Are you missing a great photo right now?

Cheers!

Technically they're fine-- I'm more of a sucker for less saturated pictures but neither really overpowers the other.

I think your beach shots need something more of interest in the foreground to fill the space and stand out as a focus point; the few pebbles and that wave don't quite do it, there's just too much space.
Good start though, your use of leading lines is good.

Who cares how you get the shot; just photograph it and photograph it well

this really does belong in Samples forum but it's fun to critique. I thought the middle picture was balanced better than the bottom one, too much saturation on #3. #1 seems fine and very sharp too. I've been wondering about the flat panel monitor too, whether it would place hinderances on my touch up work. Presently I do not have one.

A-Eighty: It's a really neat camera, even if it's not black.

Gee-Five: What a fine camera, too, with some great features -- and it's black!
(There! Now I can't be accused of harming newbie camera searches).
