Thank you Brian!

I've been thinking about perhaps have the image you click on in the thumbnails open up in a separate window without menu and head (but still with the navigation arrows). How would that work for you? When you click the "up"-button it would then close the second window and you'll be back in the frameset with the thumbnails.

Petra
I enjoyed your pictures but in terms of layout, I would do away
with the frames. My monitor is small and having to view things in a
frame just limits the view area even more.

Thank you Furrukh! :-)

Seems like everyone is leaving Zing and Photopoint these days and create their own sites. I specially love those people that put in time and effort in making their sites and upgrade them. We've got so many multi-talented people around here!

I might need help picking out what photo's to use from my Zing and Photopoint albums, you don't happen to have some spare time, do you? ;-D

Fuzzy hugs,
Petra
Very nice site. Good design and style! Also very good choice of
your photographs. I saw a few that I have not seen before. I like
your site a lot!

Warm hugs and cheers!

OK, now it's time to get dirty... lay it on me. What should I
improve (except my photography)???

Thank you Frank! :-)

The font I use at the top is a Swedish designer that made it. He had read about my problems with my health and wanted to cheer me up so I got to pick any font I liked from his site and he'd send them to me! I fell in love with this one (and a couple more useful ones), but I sure didn't know when and how to use it... until now. :-D

I'm glad that the site seem to load fast since it's one of the most important things when it comes to web design. I whish for everyone a fast Internet connection, but until then I'll try to not make the browsing too painful for those with slow modems.

The huge panorama was my second attempt with panoramas. I still want to do more, but I haven't yet found something that's worth showing up in that big way.

I have some more people photos, I'll just dig them out... and I also plan to take more. I'm a bit shy when it comes to point the camera at people and I feel like a theif taking candids, but I'll practice on that skill.

Petra
Petra, the site is simple, clear, balanced, easy to navigate, and
stylish to boot. Very funky header. Fonts are well chosen, too.
It also loads quickly and smoothly (and I'm a long long way away).
The whole package (content included) is excellent. A+

Cheers,
Frank

PS. That huge pano is magnificent.
PPS. More people photos please, if those 2 portraits are an
indication of what you are capable of.

Petra,

Nice, clean site. Also had fun looking at other areas of the Bazazz site (you were SO cute 30 years ago ! :-) and you look a lot like your mother IMO)

Thanks Cosmo! :-D

I take it as a compliment that I look like my mother. She's my best friend!

Mom was in London this last weekend visiting BBC Radio. She was exhausted afterwards, London is smokey and noisy! She also got attacked by a pickpocket and lost around £40 that she had in her wallet... the first nite in London. Talk about bad impression.

Oh well, she had enough money to buy me all the Harry Potter books in original language. In Sweden they've just released the 3rd book so it's great to be able to read the 4th before everyone else.

If you haven't read Harry Potter, do!!! They are great fun for both grownups and kids. :-D

Hey Petra,

Great job! I started clicking through the galleries and it was nice to see all your great shots again. I suppose that's what an album is for. :-)

I took a little longer at the digital art section to examine that gummy again. :-)))

Thanks a lot for doing this. Your work is appreciated and a great feast for the senses.

Petra,

Bad luck about your Mum. My wife got pickpocketed waiting for a bus just after we got here. Amazingly I managed to chase the pickpocket down the middle of the road, grabbed his jacket and he dropped the purse with nothing taken. All I was left with was the whole back of his jacket :-) I thought that I should have done more but read the next day that someone chasing a bag snatcher got knifed for his effort and that made me feel a bit better :-o

Vic was very shaken up by it so pass my condolances to your Mother. London's not THAT bad.

As for Harry Potter - I read all 4 in one weekend !!!!! and great they were too.

Cheers,

Cosmo

Well done, Petra

If I were to request any change to the site I would ask that you include a small tutorial to teach us how you composed, lite (or is it lighted), cropped, and happened upon some of your images.

I really love what you have done. I bookmarked the site so I can return to it often.

Alex, are you sure you were checking the gummy and not my gums? :-D

Thanks for the warm words, I hope I'll be able to upload more photo's soon to fill it up.

Nice job Petra! I gotta get off my butt and get a page designed. What tools did you use in designing yours?

A very interesting suggestion and something that could be added in the future. Right now I'm working with the design mostly to get it fast and dirty (and easy to upload new photo's). I'll keep your request in mind for the future, it's defineatly something I'd like to do... and it's a good reminder to myself aswell how I did it. :-)

Thanks Rick! :-)

I was fairly lazy, I've got this html-editing program that makes it easy to design homepages. It's still a tedious work to do it so if I can save some hours on html-coding I'm sure all for those html-editors. I myself use Adobe GoLive, but the real advanced users seem to prefer DreamWeaver (both commercial software and are known to write very clean html-code).

However Photoshop has a function to create homepages with thumbnails aswell so all you really need is Photoshop 5.5 or newer and some web space.

I did all graphics in Photoshop and I've been playing around with some diffrent programs to make the thumbnails, I've still yet found a really good program that could do it in bulk for me. Any suggestions there is welcome.
