Why is there a 30 second limit on movies with the Canon P90? Can you shoot longer movies with a bigger memory card?--daniel

My guess is that this is the maximum amount of time that can be held in the camera's memory buffer before being offloaded to the CF card. This is just a guess though, maybe someone else will have a better answer!

It doesn't matter what size card you put in there, you'll only get 30 seconds at a time. I'm not sure why they did what they did, but there's probably a logical explanation for it.

30 seconds is more than enough for a single scene. With the 1GB card, you can film approximately 70 minutes worth of video. String it together with an editor and voila. I have not received an explanation from Canon as to whether this 30 second limitation is due to a buffer (I doubt) or a file naming issue (probably).
