Lordy have mercy! 40 photographers and still counting! I never expected it to be this warmly welcomed, and I thank everyone for the kind words.

For those that have just jumped in on this fun little ride we're all going to share here is the breakdown.

April 21st we all go out with our E10's and just shoot the day. It will be basically " A Day In The Life ".

There are no rules, I hate rules. Shoot what you want, where you want and how you want. Okay there is one rule, do it on the 21st. :o) (sorry I lied)

I was going to try to host this, but due to ISP difficulties with the apparant volume that is going to be produced I won't be able to after all. Sorry. :(

What you can do however, is load them to where ever you usually post your pictures from, and then a post will be formed here titled something like " E10 ... A Day In The Life. " and everyone that is involved can drop links to their sites. Hence, you can take as many pic's as you like.

Again, I would like to thank...

So far I think we have half the world covered. As near I can guess, our line starts in Belguim .. proceeds across the pond to the North America, then proceeds over the Pacific to Hong Kong and Australia, with a stop in Hawaii . So the pictures are going to be very wide spread.

I think when some pro film photographers did this same thing a few years ago they only had like 15 to do it. We've gone over double that, and still taking names. :o)

If you see your name listed without a city, please let us know where you are! * Kinda helps in the fun :o)

Hi all
Is there anyone in the UK who can post my shots for me? I only have
a 56k connection (sob).
If I burn them to a cd, do I have any offers to upload?

Rob
Hi Rob,

You don’t have a problem. Just reduce the picture size down to say, 640x480 and save as JPG. Image will be around 60k. Quick and easy to upload to ‘Photopoint’ or similar host. http://www.photopoint.com/

This size is fine for viewing on the web. 56k connection will be more than adequate.
Regards,
John W.

Thanks John. I hadn't considered that!
In that case, please count me in, I shall be somewhere in Hampshire, UK
(and I bet it rains!)

Vance, I have been following this thread from the beginning with much interest. I am one the programmers of ImageFolio and after discussing with my colleagues we can donate a copy of the program for this event. We will include: ImageFolio Pro, Lightbox mod and Picture Post Mod. In short: This will allow people to upload their images directly to the gallery and add info about themselves as well as the image. Thumbnails and preview images will be generated automatically. Read more about it here: http://www.imagefolio.com

Let me know if you are interested. I will take care of the installation as long as you can get a server with enough space and that runs Perl. Anyone out there who can help Vance with that?

Dirk
[email protected]

P.S.1 Currently I am programming a version that will automatically retrieve the EXIF header info and show that next to the image as well. This will be ready before E10-day.

P.S.2 Count me in too. I am Dutch but live in Vermont

Hi Rob,

If all else fails, you can send me a few, and I'll post them to my web site. I'm thinking of making a page just for this event. :o)

I can only take 10mb at a time on my e-mail, but my website can be up to 300mb !!

I set up an additional e-mail account just in case, so if anyone has a problem with the txcowboy address, try... [email protected] .. I'm hoping it works. :o)

I'm not sure what to say. I never expected anything like this. I'm not sure about my ISP and if they can or will help. Perhaps someone else out there can? This could save a lot of headaches for everyone involved.

And welcome aboard. You make the 43rd photog to toss his lens cap into the ring. :o)

Hey Vance,

Thanks for giving me the whole State of Michigan!!!! Hope the Kunza man does't mind. However, he can take the UP and I can take the LP. But perhaps there are other Michiganders out there too, big state you know almost 5 times as large as Texas (Michigan projection system).

Thanks Vance this is going to be fun!!!!!!

April 21st we all go out with our E10's and just shoot the day. It
will be basically " A Day In The Life ".

There are no rules, I hate rules. Shoot what you want, where you
want and how you want. Okay there is one rule, do it on the 21st.
:o) (sorry I lied)

I was going to try to host this, but due to ISP difficulties with
the apparant volume that is going to be produced I won't be able to
after all. Sorry. :(
What you can do however, is load them to where ever you usually
post your pictures from, and then a post will be formed here titled
something like " E10 ... A Day In The Life. " and everyone that is
involved can drop links to their sites. Hence, you can take as many
pic's as you like.

So far I think we have half the world covered. As near I can guess,
our line starts in Belguim .. proceeds across the pond to the North
America, then proceeds over the Pacific to Hong Kong and Australia,
with a stop in Hawaii . So the pictures are going to be very wide
spread.

I think when some pro film photographers did this same thing a few
years ago they only had like 15 to do it. We've gone over double
that, and still taking names. :o)

Vance,

I am serious about my offer. If you find some server space contact me, I will hold my word. What we could do is only store a thumbnail image (5-10 Kb) and a preview image (30-60 Kb) and tell the "uploaders" that they can provide a link to the full-size image themselves. They could type the link in as soon as they upload the image. This link can be put next to the preview image and say something like: "Click here for full-size image".

In this way you would need a max of 500 Kb a person (5 images + thumnails). If you have 100 to 200 uploaders that would add up to to 40 to 80 Mb.

Dirk
Dirk thanks!!!

I'm not sure what to say. I never expected anything like this. I'm
not sure about my ISP and if they can or will help. Perhaps someone
else out there can? This could save a lot of headaches for everyone
involved.

And welcome aboard. You make the 43rd photog to toss his lens cap
into the ring. :o)

Again, Thanks Dirk!

Vance.
Let me know if you are interested. I will take care of the
installation as long as you can get a server with enough space and
that runs Perl. Anyone out there who can help Vance with that?

Dirk

P.S.1 Currently I am programming a version that will automatically
retrieve the EXIF header info and show that next to the image as
well. This will be ready before E10-day.

P.S.2 Count me in too. I am Dutch but live in Vermont
