Well folks, there are officially 182 photos entered into the D70
Challenge #5 - Transportation themed event. That is A LOT of
photos!!! A big thank you to all the photographers who've entered
into the challenge. It seems like the theme was well received, and
I appreciate all the participation from you all.

Now the fun begins, and we have to choose our favorites of the bunch.

Voting will begin NOW and continue through June 14th (GMT). Results
will be tallied/posted on June 15th.

Do to the unbelievably great response to this challenge I have
taken the liberty of updating the voting process a bit. If you have
participated in previous D70 challenges, please take note, because
it's going to be a little bit different.

First off, in order to vote, you must have a registered userID from
DPReview.com. I am sorry for this, but hopefully you will agree
that it is necessary after reading further. Please note that if you
have not participated in the challenge, YOU CAN STILL VOTE, and are
encouraged to do so.

You can vote for up to FIVE (5) pictures.
You can vote for your own picture if you wish.
You cannot vote for a single picture more than once.

You don’t have to order your votes (1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.) Simply
vote for your 5 favorite images, and you’re done.

I will tally up all the votes at the end of the voting period and
announce the top 5 place photos.

HOW TO VOTE

This is the important part. Because there are so many photos, and
because you are allowed to vote up to 5 times, I have tried to
implement a voting process that will make the counting a little bit
easier. Here is the process in 8 easy steps:

1. First thing you need to do is browse to the gallery:

2. Next, you must make sure you LOGOUT of Smugmug. In order for
your vote to count, you must logoff… you’ll see why in a sec.

3. Switch to ALL THUMBS viewing style by selecting the Style
dropdown in the top-right part of the browser window and clicking
ALL THUMBS.

4. Find the photo you want to vote for and click on it to select it.

5. Click on the ADD COMMENT button to get to the add comment screen.

6. On the add comment screen, enter the following into the NAME field:

VOTE*your_dpreview_userID (ie. VOTE*ckallen )

(If you don’t see a username field then you need to logoff smugmug:
see step #2)

7. In the comment field, enter “This one gets my vote” or something
similar. Feel free to add details as to why you voted for the photo
if you wish.

8. Click ADD COMMENT to finalize your vote. (Please check your
comment after you click save to make sure it contains
VOTE*your_userID in the NAME field.)

Only votes that are submitted during the voting period will count.
Also, only votes that contain the proper text in the name field
will count.

If you make a mistake, don’t fret. Just post a comment explaining
the error, and I will try to make it right during the counting
process. If you vote more the 5 times (on purpose or accidental) I
will probably just count your first 5 votes, based on the date of
the comment.

It’s kind of a pain… I know… but I hope you don’t find it too
difficult to vote.

I would appreciate if you can try and help me get the word out on
the forum (or other forums as well.) Anyone with a dpreview ID can
vote. Even if they didn't submit an entry.
