my kids and I went to Europe last summer.....we took 4,280 digital pictures in Spain, England, Scotland and ITaly over the course of a little more than 2 weeks....we had 3 digital cameras humming.....just didnt have enough digital film with us so we had to down load in my laptop everynight and there were a few days that we were limited by what we could take due to the lack of film.
With the D30 that I have now......I see no limit in sight.......

I just got it last night and have put about 60 through it...well worth the investment. My Elan IIE only had a roll of 24 through it, and that was the day after I bought it.

Speaking of number of photos. Anyone actually get to 9999 yet and see what happens? Does it roll over to 1 again?

set file numbering to "autoreset"
take a photo. download it. rename it to 9999. upload it. take another photo

3255 total for the two days. (Shot JPEG Large Fine.)
But I'm guessing someone will be able to top that.
The real pain was that I was in Ukraine, with only a 340MB microdrive, 160MB CF card, 128MB CF card, and a PowerBook. I forgot the PowerBook charger back in the States, so I had to conserve battery life. It was lots of fun swapping camera batteries between camera and charger (plugged into the one unused outlet in the arena) and downloading the CF cards to the PowerBook in-between competitors. I eventually ran out of things to toss from the HD and had to just bring the three cards back full.
It ends up being an 8-CD set. Once I'm done burning, I'll have lots of space on my HD for OS X! : )

I took 408 at my son's basketball game desperately trying to get a decent shot in the poor lighting conditions (I don't have anything fast other than the 50mm 1.8 and it really isn't long enough). I'm hoping to get my wife to allow me to expand my lens collection to cover this situation!

Yesterday I shot 704 photos in exactly 2 hours and ended up keeping 636 of them. It was a fashion/glamour shoot on location with one model.
