What did you shoot/proc. today? 11th June 2004

Literally. Considering that I was just testing the 1.12u firmware for flash exposure, it came out pretty good, huh? 1/125 sec F3.5 ISO 64 at 32.2 (equiv 126mm).

How do you find the flash exposure now on the new firmware?
Pretty good so far (though I haven't tested it on any human or animal subjects yet). No exposure compensation necessary like before (+ 1/3 or 2/3 flash compensation) -- except for distances beyond recommended. Best results seem to be with WB set to AUTO or FLASH.

niiiice one pete - the fog enhances this pic wonderfully - now if we could only grab the mountains behind vancouver - we'd be sweet.
Melbourne skyline seen across Yarra River/Hobsons Bay from
Williamstown at approx 1:00 PM, still very foggy over the city.

Floral foreground to Albert Joseph Moore's "Canaries" from 1878. Handheld 1/6 sec F5.0 ISO 64 at full zoom 50.8mm (equiv 200mm). Another testament to this camera and it's anti-shake feature not possible otherwise (and I have very steady hands).

So I'm a couple of minutes early, big deal. ;)

Taken in Santa Croce Church, Florence. ISO 400, 28mm (35mm,) f2.8,
1/5 sec, AS obviously on.

Nice shot. I'm getting to relive my first trip to Italy some 25 years ago andf then some. "Sorry Sir, No Flash allowed." No problem :-) Gotta love the A/S!

Peter,

Great contrast (literally) between the more modest boats in the foreground and the imposing skyline through the fog. I prefer the more panoramic shot.

Gosh! An artful day today. Nice stuff. I'm feeling all culturefied. ;-)

Yesterday, I was motivated by another thread to go buy an adapter ring for my polarizer so this morning I tried it out by going back to my favorite nearby park.

Yesterday, I also updated to firmware 1.12 so at the same time I was trying out the polarizer I also tried to get my A2's focus to fail. I tried and I tried but I failed to get it to lockup, unexpectedly reboot, or anything else except work flawlessly. So I am very hopeful 1.12 cured this ill. Could it possibly be there will actually be nothing about the A2 to complain about? ;-)

Anyway, some photos...

In the crop below there is some single pixel detail. Not too shabby for an outdated lens and soft camera.

I had just finished dinner, when I heard the sound of a marching band. I rushed outside with my A1 and was just in time to capture them:

It seemed that the 'Avondvierdaagse' (a 4 evening walking tour) had just ended:

Nice picture of a majorette:

First shot hand-held 200mm equiv, 1/25s! A/S works then....

Thanks for both the compliment and tip, Gordon. I've read lots of insightful posts already about various issues, and have already downloaded the current firmware, which I would have missed had I not been reading the forums.

I look forward to seeing yours and others works in the future and hope to enter the competitions as well.

Dee
I'm new to the forums, we just got our A2 last week, and am still
trying to figure out everything.
Welcome, dkuijer. This is a good place to get help.

Beautiful flower shot. BTW, if you add '.jpg' to the end of your
pBase URL, like so...

...it will load in your forum posting automatically, like this...
