I'm glad you liked it (amazing, eh? I'm blushing!!!). The area is so stunning, but I've had a difficult time shooting it. The crazy weather helped me.

Thanks for having a look( & commenting!)

Hi,

Those are just great, I really like the 1st and 2nd picture, and
the third is also nice, while less interesting to me then the first
2.

I like the subdued colors in your landscape shots and the
athmosphere they create, combined with fine composition. Your
images are refreshingly different from "typical" landscape photos.

I also liked the other galleries on your website! Great work!

Best regards,
Arthur

Thank you for your words. I dropped my jaw in amazement when I saw that stunning shadow. I jumped the fence and ran like a school kid to take the shot (it was a good 150 metres from the road... I gotta get in shape!)

My landscapes are from what I see around me. I've had some non photographic people look at them and say, in disappointment, "Too bad they're not like normal landscape shots..."

Oh well...

Thanks for having a look & letting me know what you liked!

--once i got into your photos i had a look at a few you have some
nice shots one of a real stormy aussie sky and also the fence going
up the field is lovely.
I am still ahaving browser problems. toggling from IE to read and
Netscape to post is a real pain but no help in sight.
Just have to go out and take photos instead.
Vera
Thanks for checking them out. I've been here for 13 years now, and I always here the same thing, "This is pretty crazy weather, it's not normally like this"

Makes me laugh.

I'll probabally stay with Netscape 100% now. I'm getting used to it, and I don't want two browsers.

Wow, you have some stunning images! Damn difficult to reference,
but quite worth the effort for such fine work. I was particularly
struck by the bold simplicity of these images:

Goat Tracks

Kapunda1

Landscape041

You like my "Goat Tracks" shot? heh heh... people always look at me funny when I show them that one. Thanks!

'Difficult to reference' ??? is that because there's not a lot of the surroundings showing. or am I missing your point? This interests me, let me know.

Thanks for checking out the gallery & giving your feedback.

..the first is so very pleasant.
The second really interesting..
the third... nice image
out of something that could easily be overlooked.

Bruce
Thank you, Bruce. If it hadn't been raining off and on that day, I'd have grabbed a bottle from a local winery, and taken my favorate gal up under that tree for a bit of afternoon enjoyment. But arrainging a babysitter last minute is difficult, and I had to see a customer, and I'd probabally get pulled over after finishing the bottle, and it was just much easier to take some photos and think about how pleasant it really could have been.... and besides, it was raining off and on that day anyway so I didn't really have those options!

sigh

next time maybe.

nice of you to have a look!

Doing some work through and around the Barossa Valley: many
winerys, beautiful views, and some more winerys.

Kapunda, South Australia:

Pouring down with rain one moment, then bright sunshine the next.
It made for some great light effects in the distance.

Kapunda the next day, no rain, but the clouds were still putting on
a show:

I love the composition of these shots, but they are over sharpened. The photos suffer from halos, and artifacts, because of it. Almost any photo will look better under sharpened than over sharpened. Finding the right balance, is an artform in itself.

Once in a while, please check back several pages in the forum, for posts that may have been overlooked. Thanks!

Thanks Nina!

I checked out some of your shots:

Autumnal web, Lake Rotoiti,Victorian splendour, Lux Eterna... there are a couple more that are cool as well. You've got a good eye.

Thanks for checking out my pics. I'd love to know what you like in my gallery.

cheers,

Well, I take it all back; the URL wasn't that difficult to reference so that the bigger images appear here... Just had to add .JPG to the end of the URL string.

Again, inspiring work, thanks for sharing!

Big Mike,

Thanks for viewing the pics & letting me know what you thought.

I agree that sharpening is an artform, and thanks to the fine people in the 'Retouching' forum, I've been doing a light Lab sharpen only after final resizing. So far I've been going around thinking that it's working quite well. I'm struggling to see where there are halos from sharpening though. Where do you see them as evident? Are you talking about compression artifacts?

Thanks in advance,
