Ultra II CompactFlash or CompactFlash?

I use regular Sandisk CF. It has worked well for me. In RAW, after the buffer is full (4 frames) it takes approximately 1 sec / frame to clear the buffer. If you need anything faster than that, you should consider the Ultra II.

It depends on what kind of pictures you want to take. The only time you need the Ultra II is if you are going to be doing lots of continuous shots that will fill up the buffer.

If you are going to take single shots, then a regular card will suffice since the buffer can handle the largest picture size (NEF+JPEG) without issue when you do it one at a time.

I have the Ultra II but most of my shooting is single shots. But it was fun that one day I was trying out sports photography.
I'm planing to buy a d70 and some sandisk 256mb cards.
Should i buy the Ultra II CompactFlash or the CompactFlash?
Annyone who has experience with the use of both cards?

I was trying to buy the Sandisk Ultra II CF from several places, but all I could find was the regular Sandisk CF. Two places I called said it wouldn't be in stock until August!

Got Sandisk 1GB CF for about $150 from mwave.com. The local BestBuy had Sandisk 512 Ultra CF II (one piece) for $200, but that's WAY too expensive for me. I'll possibly buy one when supply catches up with demand.

PS: My D70 arrived via UPS today! Memory won't show up until tomorrow, so I'll have to read the manual tonight :^)

I got a couple of 256mb Ultra II's from Amazon a month ago or so. I am planning on doing some sports photograhy such as auto racing and if i remember correctly for that type of subject matter the Ultra II works perfectly. Correct if wrong.
