Good neck strap for the 1DMkII?

The Op/Tech Pro Loop seems to be the neck strap of choice amoung
most photographers. I have one on my 1D Mk2 and my 1v. They are
comfortable, light weight, sturdy, reliable and relitively
inexpensive. It comes in a variety of colors. Is carried by most
camera stores.

Can the Optech Pro loop neck strap be installed together with the
E1 handstrap?

I am still waiting for my 1DmkII, but already can tell that the
standard Canon strap is probably too narrow to be comfortable with
a 24-70L or 70-200L attached, especially with a 550EX. Anyone got
a good idea for a better, wider, more padded strap to buy for this
baby. I have already ordered the hand strap.

Thanks

John,

The 1DmkII comes with a fairly good strap (1 inch wide, wider than the Canon standard you are 'afraid' of). Try it, maybe you're happy with it. I am and I used it with heavy lenses.

Best regards,
Paul

the canon strap is OK.. but not enough when you pile on the bigger lenses 550ex.. you can start to feel the circulation to your brain being CUT OFF :)

Here one.. When in doubt about any quick connect... Put a small metal bolt through it :) LOL

Tape works good to, but when have strapes like that on my video camera cases that weight 25LB and we put a bold through them so their no chance of them coming lose ;)

  • Maybe one day I'll take a decent picture. In the meantime, I'll
blame the equipment. :)

Thi Leica bino strap surely looks like an OEM-branded OpTech Super
Classic strap (my preferred strap), but with undesirable eyelet
connectors instead of the safer (non-marring) 3/8" web connectors.

John
The eyelet connecting steel rings are for Leica M & R cameras. It's removable for attaching to binoculars or other cameras by means of web straps and is beautifully made in Germany. This is the best camera strap money can buy IMO.
