Monopod: Inexpensive, light and quick release

John. The salesman sold us this one for $1.95. I also see that on B and H's page they have a manfratto bushing listed that appears to be the same one for $1 more than the generic. The set up is quite nice and sturdy. No regrets. I took alot of time to decide but my Dreb advisors helped me out.

I don't think, however, that some were aware that there is a bushing that can chage the 1/4 to 3/8"so that any 3/8 head or attachment can be used. I wasn't. But, the rep at B and H told my wife that the head and monopod would work for what I wanted but the bushing was needed . It goes into the bottom of the ball head, where it attaches to the monopod.
Good Luck.

Take a look at the Manfrotto 3006

plus the 3229 Swivel/Tilt head with QR

Comes to $63 together at B&H. Great and light solution in my opinion.
I've already been eyeing that combination, but I'd also like to get
a tripod that works with the same quick release plate, so I can
leave the QR plate on the camera and use either the tripod or
monopod, depending.

Do you know it that QR plate works with other Bogan/Manfrotto tripods?

Wayne Larmon

Dear Wayne. I can't tell you for sure . But the plate # for this tripod is the same as on the 484 ballhead I bought, and the same for the 3229 as shown on B and H's web site.

Set Up= Great for my needs and requirements. I'm not a pro, and I wanted light for travel and utility.
You might be checking the 486 head. The 484rc2 is cheaper and lighter.

Droppingin, in regards to your signature, does that include politicians and terrorists? =)
I got the Manfrotto Monopod 681B, B for black, with a Sunpak ball
head. The Manfrotto head would not allow complete 90 degree
protrait-view rotation.

The monopod has quick release and is probably not the lightest but
it is by no means heavy. The total cost for both was about $75.
