RUST - Are you in or out? (pic)

This is what would happen to the Golden Gate Bridge if they didn't
constantly re-paint it..

Before I joined the digital photography revolution 2+ years ago and
stumbled upon dpreview, I never knew rust held any photographic
appeal - anyone has a theory on this?

You wouldn't catch a professional film photographer just printing his or her negatives as is, why should I?
 
I used monochrome channels on this one.
It was heavily overcast.

I liked it best that way when I used to shoot bw film and it seems to translate well into digital as well.
The clouds seem to compress the values into a very easily workable image.
For me at least.
