Before I joined the digital photography revolution 2+ years ago and stumbled upon dpreview, I never knew rust held any photographic appeal - anyone has a theory on this?

Maybe, consider sharing a rusty favourite from your personal image collection here?

Posted here before, but then again my rust collection is limited :-) The shot below shows rust spots on a bannister in the harbor of Bastia, Corsica. It was taken with an Olympus Camedia C3040Z, i.e., in my pre-D70 days.

This is from my "backgrounds" collection, I photograph textures and various objects that I then use as backgrounds for text, use as textures in 3D objects, or for framing behind actual photos.

Hi Guys,

Hope you don't mind a fuji bloke here... Am a regular lurker here while I save the cash to get my D70. Sooo close now, if only someone will buy my kidney from ebay then I'm there LOL...

Anyway old rusty machinery is fantastic. Snapped this pic with my fuji 602 of an old holden rusting peacefully under a gum tree one warm summers evening.
Cheers,
Tim
