Hi Everyone-

Just a short note to let you know we do have Canon G3 Cameras in stock. As of Today 5/26/04 We have 30 Left. I am sorry if someone on our staff gave misinformation regarding the stock. Thank you Kelly

Thanks for the info. Kelly--I purchased one long ago, but to anyone still looking for a G3, this is welcomed news.

Not trying to moderate, just clarifying that yes this is the type of stuff that is against the rules and this is the type of stuff that usually precedes a ban. Luckily, Phil is pretty busy right now and I doubt he'll notice unless someone reports it directly to him.

Aha! Now we know we have someone from Norman Camera in the forums, Kelly---could you be so kind as to post when you get your shipment of Canon S60's??? I live about an hour's drive from your Kalamazoo store, and am itching to get my hands on an S60!

I have been doing business with this store out of Kalamazoo since I lived there (now I'm stuck in MS) in the mid eighties, I just received an order from them on my doorstep today which was shipped on Monday as promised.

space used here for discussion of G3, that this would be considered more of a news item and public service than a sales pitch. There have got to be several people here who would still like to have one given the fact that there are very few left. The Forum Rules Police can probably best apply their time and energy elsewhere.

I have never seen anyone from Norman Camera use this forum to solicit business. All the employees I have dealt with at Norman Camera are VERY professional - starting with an initial call and the telephone operator (yes they actually answer their phone with a human).

I am sorry If I offended anyone earlier with my G3 Post. I was trying to clear up an error by one of our staff members who gave misinformation regarding our stock to one of you who posted to this forum we no longer had cameras available. I thought since this camera is pretty much unavailable and there are still people looking for them that clearing up the error on our part would be helpful. We appreciate everyone's support on this forum and have no intention of causing issues. Please accept my apology if this was a problem for you.

I think this falls into a gray area because it's a 'need to know' kind of situation and not really blatant commercialism. Doesn't bother me.

I sent my brother and a neighbor to Norman camera cause they weren't available anywhere else and they both bought there.

But this is Phil's web site and he may disagree.

Apparantly, someone previously posted that Norman Camera was out of G3's and Kelly is saying "sorry that's incorrect; we DO have G3's." She did not make a sales pitch, she did not mention a price. She did not initiate the discussion about Norman Cameras and G3s.

I learned of the existence of the G3 at Norman Camera through this forum and purchased several in addition to other products. The sharing of all kinds of information on this forum is the reason we all participate. I have become am frequent shopper at Norman Camera because of their reliability, knowlege and fair prices and I have the forum to thank. Sandy-

I would rather not cause anymore trouble on this forum however I will answer your question and I hope that everyone understands that I watch this forum to improve our customer service and I only post when I feel that it is important or something posted is inaccurate. The s60's shipped from Canon yesterday and I expect we will have them tomorrow.

You do have to realize that Phil has no desire for every internet retailer to be out on the forums giving us availability updates of their stock of cameras. That is not what the forums are intended for. Kelly was correcting misinformation which I am sure that Phil would understand.
