Hello Min Lee,

I am glad that you enjoyed and where able to see Italy. It truly is a wonderful country. In your photo #3, look for distracting objects such as the shadow and try to move or change your angle for the shot. The shadow draws your eye to it and takes from the photo. Some of your shots looked a little over exposed. Next time try either a faster shutter speed of Higher Apeture. This should help. Was there a fog or mist in photo #6? It was a very nice shot, still looked a little over exposed. But you keep shooting and enjoying. Please Don't take this as any criticsim they are just suggestions. The memories in those photos are what it really is all about.

Take care,
Joe D
I bought a Canon S10 before I went on a vacation to Italy. I was
very satisfied by the result. Here are some samples...

I am relatively new to photography, so I would appreciate any tips
or comments so I can learn from them. Thanks~

Wonderful travel album Min Lee! My favorite is Piazza de San Marco from top of the campanile. Great perspective in that one, but they are all very nice!

Actually the shadow was what I wanted to capture on #3 -- I thought it would be fun to shoot the shadow of the campanile that I was top of, that's casted over the city ;-) You're right though, it does draw eyes aways from other things...

Thanks for all your tips~

Hi Min Lee,

Normaly I just write my comments and afterwards I will look at what other had to say. But today during hanging on the telephone just to wait until someone realy answers it, I did look around and red some of the comments.

The shadow of the tower, as some one wrote is distracting, but I don't think so the shadow makes it an interesting picture. Maybe the shadow could have been a litlle bit more out of the center vertical line, but, it makes the picture much more interesting, than just a look over the roofs of the town.

Just visited your album: very nice. I discovered that you went 30 Km from my town, in fact you visited Spoleto, wich is in Umbria (my region).

I noticed that you were in Spoleto in the only snowing day we had this year in the aera around my town. Here is an image taken near the factory where I work:

Next time you come here, let me know, we can go drink a beer togheter.

Ciao~ ;-)

Spoleto was one of my favorite small town in Italy. I was just there about two weeks ago, when they had an annual (I think) street parade/carnival. We really had a blast there. If you are interested, please check out my complete album from Tuscany and Umbria area:
