I am just interested to here from you all as to what settings you tend to use to sharpen 1DmkII images.

Do you do any in camera sharpening (what level) or all in photoshop (what settings) or a combination of both.

I look forward to hearing your comments.

If you feel like the work, shoot RAW, if not set sharpening to 3.. 5 is VERY SHARP but on some things the artifacts are kinda bad...
0 is to soft..

I shoot raw and sharpen some during conversion then more in post. I had devised my own multi-layer shapening action for use in CS and it works extremely well, but recently found that Uwe Steinmueller's "Simple Sharpen" does a superior job. You can download a trial version free at http://www.outbackphoto.com .

I have had great luck with Fred Mirandas CS Pro for the 10D. It works, I am hoping that his MkII action comes out soon.

Anthony, I have found in my short time with the MKII that I have very little if any need for post sharpening. I feel like the pictures I am taking in RAW and converting in PS with some levels and/or curves adjustments are very, very sharp ( http://www.pbase.com/paddywaddy/50_18 ). I am also finding as many others have posted that even at high ISO, the pics need virtually no noise reduction (ISO 1000 - http://www.pbase.com/paddywaddy/5-23-04 ). Overall, I am extremely pleased and excited about this camera and it keeps getting better the more I get to know the camera!!! I upgraded from the 1D and have no regrets (although I only had the 1D for a couple of months...)....

Since you didn't mention turning down ACR's internal sharpening I assume you are sharpening your photos with that during the conversion. I am not sure how ACR's sharpening compares to other methods though.

Now that you mention it, on these I did not change the default ACR settings is PS Raw conversion which I think is still set low (around 3 I think?). Anyway, I am not using any sharpening once they are converted and brought into PS.
