Female Green Iguana

I surprised this gravid female green iguana this morning at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden. She immediately ran up this tree and started displaying (bobbing her head). The picture was shot with my F828.

Gosh, lizards don't get that big around here.....Nice photo, where is this Garden?

Ted,

Thanks. I took it at Fairchild Tropical Botanical Garden in Miami, FL. It is one of my favorite venues. BTW, they do taste like chicken and in some places are called "pollo del palo" or chicken of the tree.

Here is a shot of a young juvi less than 1 foot long, also shot at Fairchild.

Nice one, i love lizards.

i have on for you too, this was 3 months ago on top od dbah hill, Gold Coast - Australia.

Ivan,

Great picture. Did you use Photoshop to enhance/change the background and bring out her color?

I know some of areas of Venezuela - the coast, Margarita, la Gran Sabana, Canaima, Salto Angel, Maracaibo, etc. Venezuela is a truly beautiful and unique place!

Dan,

Very good pic. Great dorsal ridge. What kind of lizard is this? How big was it? I've been to Austarlia, but have never seen one of these.

Hello Manny thank you for your words...Indeed i did use PS to enhance everything you said. You seem to be a guy who knows to work in PS

Hehehe you are so lucky...Venezuela is a beautiful place, it has everything you want to have in a country, and you know some of the best places here even more than i know, LOL. Thanks again for yor comments.
