New D70 broke! not fixable!

i tried alchohaul and it didn't seem to work, what would you suggest using?
F--- Error has something to do with the lens.

If you remove the lens, and turn the camera on, that's the error
message you get.

Try removing the lens, and cleaning the contacts on both the lens
and body.

Drinking won't solve anything. Besides, if you use too much alcohol, you might stumble and drop the camera.

D all of the above. throughout the course of the day i have tried all these things, reseting it worked for about 20 shots then died again, thanks for the prayer though, it's always to good to have the lord of the universe on your side ;)
1. Try resetting the camera.

2. Remove the battery and put it back in after a short while.

3. Prayer. I'll say one myself. :)

Hope it works out for you before your trip tomorrow!

but I think you'd do better with some shuteye before your trip. Take it from one who's been around longer than you have, solutions often come by way of inspiration after a good night's sleep.

yeah, that would be the smart thing to do, but why do it the easy way when you can do it the hard way :)

1. I panicked
2. Took a deep breath. "It was just wotking a second ago..." what changed?
3. I had just put on a new lens--a 50mm f/1.4 (non-d) for the first time

4. Took a sigh of relief when I realized I had NOT LOCKED THE APETURE RING. You don't have to do that with a kit lens.
5. locked the apeture ring

6. smiled, as the D70 worked again, the sky was blue, the birds were singing, and once again, all was right with the world.

Same thing happened to me last week. Talked to service tech tried several different lens and various forms of resets to no avail. Nikon service now has it and it has a code C to replace major parts.

I have only used Nikon service a few times they have always repaired and never replaced. It would be nice if they would replace on this new an item.

Hope everything works out well for you.
