New EVU available for download now.

A few days ago, someone on this forum gave a heads up about the program being available on the 20th The message said that it will ultimately be available for the 300D. Sometime later this year I believe. I'll look for the thread.
It is working for me now.

It's not about the equipment, but even the best photographer can't
make a white wall interesting with a pinhole camera.

Once and a while, check back several pages in the forum, for
people's post that might of been overlooked. Thanks!

Three days of testing can save 10 minutes reading the Manual.

Thanks Roger,

I've downloaded and installed it, works like a charm.

For you who are just as ignorant and slow as I am: it took me a while to discover that when you have opened a.crw file, pressing ctrl-T gives you the sub-menu for adjusting exposure, contrast, white balance etc. Have not compared the output to conversion with PS-CS yet, but at first sight it all looks good.

Great improvement!

Just tested it a little bit, but my initial find is that I don't care much for the sharpness process in EOV (Especially if you select anything above standard). I think PS CS does quite a better job here.

Of course if you have to further process the picture in PS CS that is also where you would do it.

Hi, Ray,
I just clicked on something, and I got this:

Not able to offer the service at present by the obstacle of the system

ErrorMsg:CZ01005CRE
Yes, I got that error message in Japanadian on several attempts but later the deal went through.

Probably the error was some kind of server overload.

Interestingly, if you get to the download page by referencing the 10D (or maybe it was the 1D), only the MAC versions are listed, but if you reference the Digital Rebel, the Windows version is listed as well!

The notice I cited about the associated Remote Capture wasn't in the Agreements but on a later page in the download trail.

I installed EVU and it looks as if it works.

I rarely use FVU so I'm not real sensitive to the "improvements" in EVU.

Best regards,

Doug

True, the included EOS Capture utility doesn't work with the 300D (it only works with the EOS-1D, 1Ds and 1D MkII), but the EOS Viewer utility works fine with images from the 300D, and that is the important thing. You just can't use this new software to download your images from the camera (but who does that anyway? -- it should work fine if you use a card reader).
The final page before download carries this scary note:

2. The version EOS Capture to that is installed with EOS Viewer
Utility 1.0.0 is not compatible with EOS D60, EOS 10D, or EOS Kiss
Digital/EOS DIGITAL REBEL/EOS 300D DIGITAL. For more information on
EOS Capture, please refer to the EOS DIGITAL Software instruction
manual. (You can download the PDF file of the manual in the
DOWNLOAD section below.)

I guess what it does work with is the 1D Mk II.

Wonderful!

Doug

Ctrl T does nothing here too, on the EOS Viewer Utility?

Could someone post a screenshot of whats its supposed to do, maybe a link to your update file...

I am not by the program, but I used a menu item -- something like "open toolbar" or something like that. A separate window pops up with sliders on it.

The current version seems to have editing Ctrl-T disabled, any other sites with the new verison?

the menu is popping up BEHIND the program window and you can't see it?

Editing just does not do anything here...

Have version 1,0,0,30

The updater is EVUUpdater.exe 10,410KB 3/21/2004

Does that match working ones?
