Car picture thread! - Please read.

Here is a nice one I took a photo of the first week I got my 300D.... It was sitting in the parking lot of the local Marriott Hotel here in Lexington.

i know nothing about cars, so don't be offended if this is a stupid question. is that a kit car or the real thing?

The Ferrari post gave me this idea. I'm a member of some car
forums and VWvortex.com is my latest. If find that some people
take some nice car shots. It would be interesting to see some
photos of the forum members on here. I was recentely in an
accident and have yet to get my car fixed so I don't have any of
mine right now.

I also am in small town, Pennsylvania and not in my other residence
in Los Angeles where seeing a ferrari is an almost everyday
occurance. Here in PA a "nice ride" is a Ford pick-up. Nothing
against Ford or trucks, just not my particular taste. That said I
rather have this post be based more photographic creativity than
vehincle make or model. I hope that some of you can contribute!

Simple rules;

1. It does NOT have to be your own vehicle, but it would be nice if
you at least took the photograph yourself.

2.The subject must be a motor vehicle.

3. No flaming!

Ok, sounds like fun.

So...here, from beautiful downtown Holbrook, AZ, along world famous Route 66, and in the parking lot of an American landmark, the WigWam Motel, here are some "classic" car pictures, and a little more

nice STi... just wished they would have stuck with the 2.0 engine and kept it true to the WRC approach...

My wife and I have a dog and a little one on the way. We're in our late twenties so a minivan was out of the question. I was pleasantly surprised that I actually like the station wagon.

Photo: nice.. I could see they have the feel of what one would normally see in the catalog/brochure. That's cool... captured the car nicely.

Car: nice! Have you seen the 206's on the WRC? Where they set it up for the tarmac? It's amazing how such a seemingly unintimidating car can have such a presence when changed a little bit.

regards..
Shot these photos of my girlfriends Peugeot 206, any comments welcome:

nice car... the photos look for the most part slightly soft, or maybe even out of focus. Maybe you shrank the pics, and it got weird on you. The cleanest pic seems to be the close-up of your front left headlamp housing... that's pretty clean.

Might need sharpening, or more if you've already done them.

Were they shot in RAW? Large JPEG?

regards...

Good thread.. I like seeing these... sometimes I kind of get tired of seeing only landscape or animals.. no offense to those who do.. just some variety is nice.

Too bad I still haven't figured out how to post a pic on the forums.. does one need to have another site to link photos too?

Regards..

cspak,

Yes, you need to host your pictures externally. I use photobucket.com they allow direct linking and are free.

I have been reading these forums for a long time but have not ever posted. This thread has spiked my interest enough to try to post. Hopefully the link will work, forgive me in advance if it doesn't.

This photo is of a 1970 Plymouth Cuda. The reflection is real, not photoshoped. If there is any interest i have more that I can post.
