Not happy with Nikon D70

I wish I could help you with your decision, but since most of my stuff is either lansdcape or (a little) sports, I have never experienced the problem of moire. I do understand however that the problem can be mitigated to some extent in Nikon capture, if it occurs. This is of course hearsay...Again I have not experienced it.

I will say that while the D70 is one of the best investements I've made, if the moire is a problem, and could be significant in your type of photography, then perhaps you would be better served by a different product. I understand the D100 doesn't have any issues WRT moire. I know nothing of Canons , but assume that they are great products too...As long as they have all the features you need.

There are many things in this person's posting that are just plain
indicative of someone "trolling". I myself am fairly new to these
forums, and while I couldn't even begin to tell you why, it has
become obvious to me that there are quite a few people out there
whose entire identity (or if you will, their manhood / womanhood?)
is wrapped up in what equipment they own.

Now, some of these folks are apparently feeling like their
"manhood" is suddenly inadeqate becasue of all of the rave reviews
that the Nikon D70 has been receiving from many independent and
widely respected reviewers. Perhaps they own a Canon product, or, a
more expensive Nikon product....Who knows.

It's not that anyone here is mean or unhelpful (okay, there are
some loonies in every bunch). It's just that when someone owns a
product that is obviously (and only currently) superior to most
everything else on the market, they might get a little frustrated
by repeated posts by people who write for no other reason that ther
"manhood" is threatened, and they want to make folks such as
yourself question wether a D70 is a good investement.

Sue, I do not know why this should be the state of affairs here,
but it is. Rest assured that the purchase of a Nikon D70 will not
be a mistake. If you buy one, then are confused by a setting or
feature, come here and ask!! As long as you don't start your post
with a ridiculous title like "I don't like it / It's a pice of S* t
/ I'm taking it back" or similar, then proceed to cite "problems"
that are not problems at all, you will be safe from this kind of
response. Folks here are VERY helpful in my experience, all you
have to do is read around a bit to see the truth of that.

If you have questions regarding the D70 and are still afraid to
post them here, I can certainly help you out via email to the
extent of my abilities.

Good luck on the purchase, you won't go wrong.
Tom
