Here is a sample:

Weeping rock. Probably weeping because of all the graffiti and trash ignorant people leave behind.

Dacite Cliffs Mine - from the early 1900's. Too dangerous to enter due to possibility of cave-ins and poisonous gas.

Nice view from the second side trail I took. I don't know the name of the trail. It's not on the Superstition Wilderness map.

I couldn't believe I got to see another Gila Monster. See? It pays to be paranoid and check out every little rustling noise you hear in the brush! This one is a lot skinnier than the one I saw on Hieroglyphics Trail. Here's a link to that one. http://www.pbase.com/image/27711316 and http://www.pbase.com/image/27711326

Note: They're just pictures, don't look if you're hoping to see great works of art.

It is a great area - until Summer that is. Then I'm not so wild about it. :-) It seems similar to parts of Australia but I wouldn't know since I've never been there.

Nice area for hiking. You have ample photo ops out there. I should have started too. Here in NW, mostly sunshine, liquid one that is ...

Great gallery.

I too enjoyed the gallery. I will have to make a weekend trip over
there and do some hiking of my own someday.
Thanks. :-) You should wait until Fall now unless you enjoy sweating a lot. I see you're in San Diego. I've only been there once and for the last couple of years I've been trying to plan a trip. So close and yet so far LOL.

We could use some of your liquid sunshine out here. If you send some make sure it arrives after I get home from work though. :-)

Hi Lehi,

Thanks for bringing me in a place I may never visit. Your shots were always interesting.

Another hike in that hostile environment - are you sure you're not suicidal? :-)

Here's my selection of favorites from this hike:

(I wcouldn't be able to stay out of such an old mine - my mineral-searching braincells would take control, and I'm not affraid of bats btw)

this is a very fine landscape image if you ask me, with a nice natural frame and enjoyable colours.

nice silhuettes in front of that glowing rock formation!

ok, it wasn't really the image, but the text that I liked:

"The trail doesn't really end here. This is just where my adventurous spirit gave up its ghost. The trail continues, for a short distance at least, in an almost vertical fashion so I decided not to risk it. I probably missed some teriffic views but I figured this was not a good day to die. Dishes in the sink...bed not made...nope, too embarassing! ;^) "

I would rather die before cleaning the dishes and making up the bed, otherwise think of all the time wasted - it's not like you'll be eating and sleeping again after you die huh! :-)

ouch!!!

I enjoeyed the hike,
regards,

LOL, no. That's why this is probably my last hike in the Superstitions until Fall. It officially hit 100 degrees yesterday.

I'm not afraid of bats either - mostly - :^) but I am afraid of cave-ins and poisonous gas. There was a very unpleasant odor emanating from the cave. Might have just been bat guano but since I don't know for sure what bat guano smells like I wasn't taking any chances. :-)

I'm glad you explained why you included that photo. This is just a perfect example of one of the many the differences between men and women LOL.

Thanks for the comments Greg, always appreciated. :-)
