Based on latest 1D MKII information, I cancelled my order

I just cancelled my order for the Canon 1D MkII at BestPriceAudioVideo.com.

FedEx tracking number shows my 1D MkII order from 17th Street Photo is on the way. Mark at 17th Street confirmed the shipment. Probably here tomorrow based on past experience w/17th Street Photo.

I was told they received 4 - 1D2's last Friday.

Can you tell me why you cancelled when it seems to be the hottest item on sale these days !?!
From what I read it looks like one of the very best toys for pros and amateurs.
Can you share that with us

Grats on getting your camera. I'm starting to consider alternative sources, given that eCost isnt expecting units until May 28th.

I only needed one 1D MkII.

Most of us have witnessed things going wrong at times. I have given a fair amount of business to 17th Street Photo this year and I rank them with the best vendors, but just in case the order didn't come through .... I had a backup source.

Result is that I have my Mark II on the way (heck it's in Dallas already) and no 8 on the BestPriceAudioVideo.com list is now surprized to find themselves no. 7. That may be you.

I've posted twice that I got mine on Monday AM and asked if anyone else did business with them. Both times received no replies,maybe worth a call.

They only charge when shipped, only gripe is they never let me know it was on the way, and found out it was about to be delivered when I called to cancel as I thought I was getting it from BH. I got on their list Friday, but then cancelled Monday AM just as it was about to be shipped.

I have had good experience with J and R over the years. Do not work for them. Just trying to help
