One question though... I'm from the UK so please excuse me. What the heck is a stock yard? (other than a place to get great photos)

Steddy hello - thanks for the nice comments. Stock Yards are an: enclosure where
cattle, pigs, horses, or sheep are kept temporarily.

In this case it is and older section of Fort Worth in Texas. Back in the day, cattle

and live stock were brought in to be sold off. Today it has been commercialized,
though there is still some rodeo. Lots of shops and older buildings etc. etc.
