I actually bought the coolpix 950 and sent it back after I saw the photo comparisons on this very web site with the Olympus. Now I may be naive, but the Oly pics were sharper by a long shot. And, oh, by the way, the Oly is a lot smaller, has a remote, etc. But features aside, it takes a better picture. Go look at the comparisons if you don't believe me.

James,

Yes, I just got a new C2000z also. I then purchased the HP P1000 Photo Deskjet and the results are better than when using my 35mm camera. If you get the HP P1000, be sure to use HP glossy paper for outstanding results.

Sort of off topic I guess but what's the cost per page to print 8x10s with the HP regarding ink and paper. On the Epson 750, it's about $1.35 / page buying the photo paperand ink cartridges from buy.com and figuring 30 8x10s per set of cartridges...

I don't know how applicable this is to modern HP printers, but I get WAAAAAAAYY more than 30 8 x 10s from my ink cartridges on my old HP 820 Cse. More like 300. I've just finished printing 50 new year cards (substantially full pages) on cartridges that have been in my printer for almost a year. For a while (before I bought my C-2500L) I was printing 8 x 10s from all the sample C-2500L images I could find. From that alone I have a folder the better part of an inch thick. I've never ceased to be amazed at how far the ink goes in this printer.

The photo paper is the real expensive part nowadays. I haven't tried it yet, but in December I got some packs of 20 sheets (a special "5 extra sheets" promotion) of Kodak photo inkjet paper for $13 each (I think it was) at Office Depot.

Actually Just a few hours ago I compared 2 print outs using the same Paper and image on my new Epson photo 750 and the HP P1000. The Epson took much longer to print but the quality was better. Also at 192$ you can buy 2 Epsons for the price of one HP P1000!!

One thing the HP color cartridges are twice the price as the Epsons.
