A few days ago, Muriel posted her results of Bud's action on her pansies photo. I was so impressed I went hunting for more actions. Here's a portrait of my Mitsie using Feivel's Mystical Glow (COI).

Then I ran the action again. I can't decide which one I like best. Maybe you all can help me decide.

Thanks for any comments, especially if you'd like me to downsize the pixels from 300dpi to 72dpi. The files are small, but I see my photos are pretty big. Maybe toooo big.

Cathy I like the second one best, I think; it's very definite that the "glow" is on purpose, and the expression in the eyes does look more "glamorous"! The size "just fit" onto my screen, and even though I have s-l-o-w dial-up, it loaded fairly quickly. I don't know whether it would matter visually if you made it 72ppi. Theoretically I think not, but some monitors show as many 92ppi, so I usually make it around 100.
Nice!

Thanks, Kathy. I like the second best as well, but the photo didn't look as dark on my iBook as it does on the 20" LCD, so I thought maybe I had really gone too far.

Thanks for the heads up on the file download. I knew the file was small, but when you work on a large monitor, the image size can be deceiving.

Hi, Cathy. The pixel dimensions are what determines how big your picture will show up on my monitor. These are 800X600 pixels, which is at the upper end of the acceptable range. If you want to present smaller versions, just reduce change the pixel dimensions to 640X480.

You might find this little tutorial of help.

Thanks, Uncle Frank! I forgot I hadn't resized these down that far.
