Colorado Plateau Pictures -- broadband

I think these are deserving of a bump, these are stunning photos and wonderfully presented Matt ! What I want to know is what did you do to the forum members to only get about 15 people commenting on these works of art :-)
Not even close to being done, but I've post-processed some of my
Colorado Plateau trip pictures and wanted to let you all see them.

Most were shot in RAW, a few are composite exposures blended.

and then some whole lot more. Among the best landscape photos I've ever seen.

Very nice comments from everyone. Glad you liked them.

I'll try to get the rest done this weekend and posted -- got some more that I think are pretty good.

Thanks to Andy for selling me on the usefulness of RAW with the 828. I find that the colors are just richer when you choose white balance, contrast, etc. when converting from RAW. Plus at least a stop of DR added to the highlights. I need to bracket a lot less with RAW which helps balance out the greater card space used and slower shot-to-shot times.

Matthew!

I hope your photos are printed to very good and resistant paper, 'cause I can't stop drooling over them, man!

Those are the best landscapes I've seen in quite a while, especially #1, it's beyond breathtaking!

Thanks so much for sharing!

The Colorado Plateau actually refers to an elevated area drained by the Colorado river, covering parts of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah and Arizona. The parts of the plateau that I visited this time were in Arizona and Utah.

The first picture is from Antelope Canyon just outside of Page, Arizona. It's actually about a mile from a giant coal-burning powerplant, believe it or not. The canyon is on Navajo land and you have to pay $18.50 a person for a 2 hour visit (lower antelope). Upper Antelope is also there and costs somewhat more, for a guided tour.

The rest of the pictures are from the Grand Canyon, Havasu Falls (on the Havasupai reservation, which is a side canyon to the Grand Canyon, and Zion National Park.

unfortunately, that would be 430 miles out of my way, roundtrip. wish i had more time on my hands. appreciate the info though, and if i don't have the chance to go there myself, at least there's someone out there who can capture its beauty and share it with others :) thanks for doing so.
