Could anybody recommend the easiest way to transfer pictures from my laptop to pc. I have no rewritable cd burner. I would rather not get a cd external burner since i have on my pc. we just came back from trip and I have about 300 pictures on laptop shot jpeg fine. If any body could suggest the easiest way to transfer, it would be much appreciated.

As Joe mentioned, the best long term solution is to simply network the two PCs together. It's a little daunting the first time, but really not that difficult, particularly if you are using Win XP.

If that's out of the question for any reason, an external burner borrowed from a friend would be a good choice.

Frys electronics sells adapters that let you hook up a notebook drive to a PC -- if the notebook hard drive is easily removable, you could temporarily plug it into the PC and transfer the pictures that way.

If you have a card reader, you could transfer the pictures to a compact flash card on the notebook, and then read them into the desktop.

Those are the options as I see them!

Another possibility is the old null modem and serial cable trick.

... the time to get the damned thing working followed by the time to transfer at 115kbps! If you have 1mb files, and your connection is perfect, it should only take about six hours!
