LCD cover gone already

well if the lcd-cover is parsprototo for NIKON's development in your eye's you probably will not purchase the d70 will you? So why bother to post?

Though the cover looks cool, I don't like that it gets so easily
knocked off. Even with a string for it. Nikon should have either
left it off or made it attach more securely. Shows how behind
Nikon is to me.

Wow that was a nice thing for the person to do!
I believe that it catches on clothing, especially jeans pockets.

I'm looking for a solution too.

Regards,

Dan.
Well, just noticed that my LCD cover is gone. Must have lost it in
the park today while photographing my nephew.

Let's see; when I worked in a camera store in 1980, a small piece
of rubber that would have been a five cent washer in a hardware
show was a nine dollar eyecup with the nikon logo on it.

I'm terrified to think what a replacement lcd cover is going to cost!!

Notice how I said to me. You are entitled to your opinion too. On this forum I feel I have the need to clearly state what I say is my own opinion. And even with that, people still feel so threatened.

I think that if they were going to put a LCD cover solution, they should have made it stay on better. They don't even give you a string for the hole as an option. If you're going to do something, might as well do it right. Again, my opinion.

I do own the D70 and I am keeping the D70.

You didn't dare criticise a poor design problem of the D70 did you? Oops. How dare you. I've had the same problem -- some people can't take any criticism of the camera at all. I mean the thing could melt in the rain and that would be okay to some people! I'm also a D70 owner, I like the camera, but I'm not having a love affair with it. It has a few warts, but doesn't everything? Let's face it, the design of the LCD cover sucks. I'm going to replace it with stick on plastic shields. No big deal, but let's not try to convince ourselves that a poor design is a good one, if it isn't...

Radio Shack has camera LCD self stick covers that can be cut to fit. I removed my Nikon cover and added one of these.
