I took my camera out of it's case yesterday and found the black part (not sure what it's called) that you lift up to activate the flash in the bottom of the case. I can't seem to get it back on, without it I'm just looking at a bunch of wires so of course the flash doesn't work.

Has anyone had this problem that could tell me if I can fix it or if this is camera repair shop job.

Thanks a million,
Ingrid

My D7Hi has not had anything fall off and I stuff it into a backpack and drag it everywhere. I would be upset if I saw wires where a flash should be. Maybe a local camera repair person can give you an idea, or even a camera shop. Good luck. - Jean Ricket

I've not had good luck with this one at all. 3 months after I got it the tab that turns the camera came on broke, a few weeks ago the rubber hand grip came off, then the rubber around the view finder and now this! I'm not impressed with the workmanship at all.

But thanks for your reply, I emailed Minolta and asked them where I could find the nearest repair shop, I just took another look at it and it's a bigger mess than I thought!

The flash cover on my D7Hi broke too. Fortunately it was under warranty, and Minolta fixed it. That was about six months ago. I think the plastic cover withstands a lot of stress, so I'm really carefull with it now. I have not had any other problems.
If it breaks again, I may just glue it together.
