Besides unlocking Custom Functions menu, it REPLACES WB button with FEC button.
Make sure to set WB to AUTO or shoot RAW only before upgrading.

I dont realy know what to think about those hacked firmwares...

One question: is it possible to switch back to the original firmware easyly?

And if you want to send camera for repair - don't forget to switch all custom function settings to original ones before reverting to original firmware.

PS there was a long-long thread about hacked firmwares some time ago.

Seems to work just as advertised! Really neat!

I have a question on the Custom Functions - what can I set to FORCE AI-Servo? I have a real problem getting auto focus while shooting sports (soccer, basketball, kick-boxing, cricket etc). I want to make sure the thing goes into auto-focus every time. I know everyone else wants to turn it off, I want to make sure mine turns on...

On my camera it stops flashing when i set ALL custom settings to original values. If i change anything besides FEC it flashes.
But I've heard rumors about no flashing at all.

This hack more or less forces you to set wb to AUTO, load the hack and then shoot RAW exclusively, unless you choose to be satisfied with the AUTO WB.

If I was reading the manual correctly, the DR lets you do WB bracketing -- like exposure bracketing, only it records three images, one bluer and one redder than the original. The best part: it only takes one actual exposure -- you don't have to take three shots to get the three images.

I couldn't imagine a use for this when I read about it, but if you (a) really want to use this hack and (b) really don't want to shoot RAW, this might be just the time to use it.
 
I'm not sure giving up WB selection is worth doing just to get on-the-fly FEC - especially when I can set it (FEC) on a session basis by just connecting to a computer.

Hopefully it's the WB button.... Could have been worst if he linked it to the shutter button, LOL...

But if it really works, it's wonderful some ppl work on such crack and make it available for the community...
