i hope all of you that get a MKII from the first shipments are happy.........it seems everytime Canon comes out with a new camera, it's a dud until the bugs get worked out.
Good Luck!

see the order layin' on the sidewalk
a little music from the house next door
so I walk on up to the door step
through the screen and across the floor
sweet days of summer - the 1D MK II's in bloom
july dressed up and playing her 8.5 fps tune
and i come home from a hard day's work
and my MK II waitin' there
not a care in the world
I got my MK II,
Wish you had one too?

it's great to see that this forum has members with great sense of
humor........i can't wait to get my MKII, but i have been totally
suprised that there haven't been any naysayers here badmouthing
what will surely be one of Canon's best sellers...........thx all
for participating.....;-))
Well, I think this time Canon won't have too many issues with the MK II. The 1D was the first of its kind, and so I can see why we had the problems it did in the beginning. But this time around, we have a camera who's pretty much a time-and-tested camera, and the new hardware and software being replaced in the 1D for the MK II version, will work accordingly.it's great to see that this forum has members with great sense of

This is not to say we will have a few people who's imager is
defective, or a shutter won't work, or a MK II that just won't
power up. I hope mine is not the lucky one, but if it is, I will
send it to the store I got it from or Canon for a replacement. It
will be a ***** to get another one, but I hope Canon will
understand this and send a replacement ASAP.
Overall, I think most of us will be ok and won't have any problems
at all.
What I would like is a 1D MK II "issues" page where people who do
have problems, can post them. I can setup a page for this if
everyone is up to it. If you have any "issues" with your MK II,
just email me and I will post your descriptions (and your name if
you want to make it more legit).
And I almost guarantee we will need a 1D MK II FAQ page for people
new to the 1D series. I am. And I'll be reading that manual for
sure, while squeezing off a few hundred rounds of course.

Fortunately, only an extremely small group of people consistently have trouble with Canon. Perhaps it's you that's not right for the camera, and not the camera's fault.I agree 100%. Canon's track record on new digi stuff is horrible.
You guys have fun with the Mark II, and let me know when you get
the bugs worked out. I'll be waiting.
I have returned 2 1D cams and 1 1Ds as unusable due to poor
focusing. Canon can't explain it.
Are you joking around or can you explain why new equipment or equipment directly back from service can't focus in servo mode for me in particular? I got really close to selling everything and switching back to Nikon when I was going to Irvine service center for about the 6th time. No one pays me to go there and take cameras back over and over. But, Nikon is just too far behind. I have to live with Canon because the photos are better.Fortunately, only an extremely small group of people consistently
