I have an area where there are quite a few nesting Osprey. I just walk toward the nest (no too close) and they will fly off and circle you. Like fishing in a barrel...lol. Rod

I think there has allready been a thread like this, but with spring
here i was hoping that there were more pics out there. Please
state the lens you used, on or off a tripod and post the shutter
speed aperture. Mine was taken on a tripod using the 400mm f5.6L
and i only got one shot as the bird was so close he was gone before
i could fire again. Only cropped a little at the bottom and right.

Plenty of seagulls, ospreys, hawks, and even eagles...but among the most lethal hunters in the sky are the owls. I would certainly love to see more owl pictures.

Perhaps you can adjust this technique for forcing the camera into AI-Servo mode:

Seems to be somewhat lens-dependent. You might have to use a stationary object to get into AI-Servo (paradoxical, I know!), then pan up and track the birds in flight.
