Can i see your best bird in flight shots.......here is mine.

Took these today. I have 2 Red Tails that "buzz" my 21st floor balcony all the time. I often sit in my office and watch them come straight at me and at the last second swoop up the side of the building about 2-4 feet away from me!. I'm a bit hampered taking shots from the balcony..I have a pigeon netting in place to keep the "cat IN". It's amazing how fast the hawks are, and tracking them up close is a lot more difficult than I thought. These 4 were the first attempts. Harsh afternoon winter/spring sun Shot in RAW..cropped...touched up in PS. 28-135 IS handheld all at 135 5.6 Last shot was a bit of a fluke...light was just disappearing on my second attempt and shot this as he flew over head...turned out to be a nice silouette.

I succeeded to catch it coming out of the water with a fish in his mouth, it was only one shot.

Focal Length 400 mm
Exposure Time 1/1600 sec
Aperture f/8
ISO Equivalent 200
Exposure Bias -1/3

I think there has allready been a thread like this, but with spring
here i was hoping that there were more pics out there. Please
state the lens you used, on or off a tripod and post the shutter
speed aperture. Mine was taken on a tripod using the 400mm f5.6L
and i only got one shot as the bird was so close he was gone before
i could fire again. Only cropped a little at the bottom and right.

I haven't really had a chance to take too many bird in flight pics, but here are some samples...

1/1600s f/8.0 at 200.0mm iso400 (100% crop. I know, it's oversharpened)

1/4000s f/8.0 at 200.0mm iso400

1/1600s f/8.0 at 200.0mm iso400

Ok, I just finished looking through everyone's bird in flight pics and mine are really BAD compared to all of yours! :(

I wish there was an edit button so I could delete mine... LOL... Oh well, maybe some day I'll be able to take better pics!

Your links don't work, but i like this pelican shot. What mode did
you use?
If you right click on your image and click on properties then copy
and past the url it will show up like this.

Thanks for the tip Paul......I coulden't figure out why my images didn't show up. The pelican shot was taken in P mode. I'm new to the Rebel but I'm slowly figuring out how to get stop motion shots of birds in flight.

Here are a couple more:
