set it up again and take it without flash at 1so 800 or even 1600 . how would the macro lens work with that. I think i can feel and experiment coming on.

I am getting to love this lens more and more. I find i use manual focus for up close shots quite a lot.

did you hand hold these.

two days a go I found a butterfly that actually stayed still and another butterfly was hovering over her. the pictures themselves are not great as the background leaves are very bright and the main subject is not the sharpest butterfly you have seen but I am amazed at the pictures. some showed the male as a blur but some got him in reasonable focus. I wasnt going to put any of them on pbase but i thought i would like to share it with you.



You are right a great lens and nice weight to use without tripod

BTW th e90mm Tamron might have helped, but the composition is yours, and that's so strong.
