For the DC visitors/natives-

GE is showcasing some of their high-tech products until march 19th at union station. they have their monster jet engine, GE90-115B, and two other jet engines, among other GE produts (train/car/wind generation) out there. might be educational for the kids.

F110 engine (goes in the f-16, f-14, and f-15)

Just an idea for scale of the -115b, the second pic i took at work when i used to work for GE.

first shot with the 602.

That's impressive. I met have to take the metro up there saturday and have a look. What all do they have on display? I'm also planning a trip to Dulles to see the Udvar-Hazy wing of the Air and Space Museum real soon.

From what I saw...

3 aircraft engine displays (used on 777, F16, and Embraer aircrafts), the big one is outside, but you cant walk onto it like in my pic. I dont know if theyll be there on saturday still, as its scheduled to run to the 19th...

all of the other displays are listed here http://www.geimaginationnation.com/

The new museum at dulles has some sweet photo ops...the JSF fighter has cool lighting underneath it. The concorde is there, but its so big that its hard to frame a shot. Its also hard to get an angle on the enola gay and the space shuttle, but they're there too. The air and space museum in DC should have the wright flyer hanging up now.

Way more stuff to see at dulles, they also have a mini jet engine display area. if youre near uniion station check it out, but dont go out of your way to get there.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm only about 20 minutes from either one so all it requires is for me to get a wild hair. My current "project" is shooting the non-monument architecture in DC, but I will probably make an exception for the a&s.
